Last week, the largest event in the public transportation industry took place – the world summit and exhibition of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) in Barcelona. TATRA-YUG participated as an exhibitor and speaker at the summit session dedicated to a customer-centric approach in public transportation.

We express our gratitude to UITP for creating an incredible platform for networking and meetings with transportation organizations from around the world. The overall impression from the exhibition and summit is that the future of cities lies in the sustainable development of public electric transportation.

Among the key achievements of TATRA-YUG’s participation is the opportunity to proudly represent Ukrainian tram cars in the international market. Additionally, important discussions on future procurement of rolling stock and presentations of innovations in manufacturing took place during the event. Over the past year, TATRA-YUG has proven its reliability and competitiveness by accelerating production rates and making its contribution to the victory of Ukraine.

On December 16, 2022, a contract for the supply of 13 new low-floor tramcars K1T306 was signed between ME “Odesmiskelektrotrans” and the consortium chaired by TATRA-YUG. The procurement tender procedure was conducted in 2021 as part of the “Urban Public Transport of Ukraine” project, financed by the European Investment Bank. Therefore, new, comfortable and modern Ukrainian-made trams, purchased with European credit funds, will soon appear on the streets of Odesa.

This is the first contract for the supply of trams signed since the beginning of the war. We are sincerely grateful to all parties and participants of the project for their hard and courageous work to update the rolling stock and infrastructure.

The entire team of TATRA-YUG continues to work on the economic front, bringing closer the Victory of Ukraine. From February 2022, 11 new trams were manufactured and supplied to the city of Kyiv as a part of the contract for the supply of 20 units.

TATRA-YUG successfully introduced Ukrainian mechanical engineering at one of the largest transport and mobility exhibitions in the world – InnoTrans 2022, which was held from September 20 to 23 in Berlin. Both current partners and potential customers visited the company’s exhibition booth.

We thank all visitors of our stand for their interest in TATRA-YUG products and their sincere support of Ukraine.

An important achievement of the exhibition was meaningful negotiations with representatives of the countries of the Western world regarding participation in projects for the supply of modern tram cars.

We are pleased to inform you that the staff of LLC “Tatra-Yug” has just shipped the first of twenty 100% low-floor tram cars to our capital under the EIB-financed contract with ME “Kyivpastrans” ahead of schedule, which we hope will be a gift to Kyiv residents on the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence 30th anniversary.

The tram has successfully passed the test for compliance with state and European standards in full, having received a certificate and also the right from the interdepartmental commission to carry out serial production was received.

About 300 enterprises of Ukraine, including 41 enterprises of Kyiv region and about 100 Dnieper region, take part in the production of LLC “Tatra-Yug”.
